idtfenfivm Seniors are on Stage In the fall of 1943, a group of inquisitive and very indefinite students ascended the steps of Sewickley Township High School to undertake a new career. Little did we realize that the career we had begun a few years back is now being given finishing touches. With the knowl- edge acquired and the treasured memories, we leave our beloved Alma Mater. During our Freshman year we were not thoroughly organized so to help eliminate the confusion, we elected officers-Yvonne Albright to guide us-Ralph Sirofchuck to assist her- Rutli Biddle to keep the records-Justina Petrini, Jeanne Trozzo, and Paul Nescot to represent us in the Student Government. We participated in various activities and proved to be quite a talented group. Boys were active in sports. The class took part in assembly programs and a Valentine Party, where we became better acquainted. VVe re-entered school following a three month vacation. This time the group was more experienced and ready to tackle our jobs. We again participated in various activities and elected officers to guide us. Ralph Sirofchuck was chosen President, Melvin Long, Vice Presi- dent, Walter Klich, Secretary and Treasurer, Helen Solsky, Jeanne Trozzo and Paul Nescot, Student Council. Jnniorsl We were really getting to the top! VVe had many problems. The greatest being the financial part. We had to raise funds for the social event of the year-the Prom! Sewickley We held movies and class dances, and also sold refreshments at the various athletic affairs. Another highlight of the year was the purchase of class rings. To guide us in this important year we elected Ralph Sirofchuck, President, Mary Altieri, Vice President, Donald Podbesek, Secretary and Treasurer. To the Student Council went Carolyn Argano, Vera Ivanac and Paul Nescot. We attained a high standard in school and felt capable of filling the position of Seniors. Yes, we really received the title of Seniors, a title all underclassmen look forward to obtain- ing. This year, to us, is very important, for at the conclusion of it we are on our own. We will think of this year in years to come. Incidents which We shall treasure such as the taking of Sen- ior pictures, proms, membership in various clubs, class day, participation in the field of sports, the band and the faculty. The officers for this year are: Ralph Sirof- chuck, President, Donald Lash, Vice President, Justina Petrini, Secretary and Treasurer, Jeanne Trozzo, Donald Fink and Paul Nescot, Student Council. Now as Seniors, we look back upon the years of education at Sewickley High and will try to achieve a high standard by it. VVe are saddened at the thoughts of leaving but because we have had capable leadership, ambition and initiative, we are ready to step out and challenge the World today. Jeanne Trozzo. -25
