First Grade This year's first grade was the largest in the history of Sewickley Academy There were thirtys-three girls and boys, many of whom had been in the Academy Kindergarten and Nursery School. The newcomers were welcomed and quickly became an important part of the group, All of the first graders have learned to read and write, and quite a few of them feel very much at home with the numbers and number combinations up to twenty. Columbus Day, I-lallowe'en, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine Day, and Easter were all celebrated in grand style with many decorations, assembly pro- grams and stories.
