INTRODUCTION The blackout and the sit-in; the dropout and the lo ve-in; taxi strikes and transit strikes; riots and integration; mixed feelings and hectic times have marked our stay at Seward Park High School. The population explosion has become an increasingly significant factor in the world situation. We Sewardites have become increasingly aware of this by a rapidly expanding student body which led to the acquisition of our annex. The endless renovation of Seward, the enthusiastic march on City Hall, the paralyzing teacher ' s strike have all been a part of our Seward years. The exciting filming of a television show in Seward Park, and a magazine article about education in New York City have shown the outside world the excellence of our High School. The McCall ' s article stated that the best high schools in Manhattan included Hunter High School, Stuyvesant High School, the High School of Music and Art, SEWARD PARK HIGH SCHOOL. ' Our school deserves this praise. We have, in addition to regular academic and commercial curricula, such courses as: Computer Math, History of Science, Honors Survey, Great Books, Negro History, Asian Civilizations, Chinese, Russian, and Problems of American Democracy. In the pages that follow, we have tried to capture, in picture and thought, our years in this unique school.
