ORCHESTRA Back Row, tleft to rightl: Arthur liischer. Helen Conger. Marguerite NX'hitney. lfleanor Cleve- land. Mabel Runnion. Marjorie Vwfhitney. Mildred Cleveland. Miss Creve tinstructorl. liront Row: Robert Aurand, lilva Cleveland. Marion Highbarger. Helen Marie Cleveland. lildora Fischer, Charles Moth. The Seward School Orchestra was organized late last year by Miss Ramona Hart. music instructor. Of course many of the students were very much en- thused when Miss Hart made the announcement. But the instruments seemed to lose their charm for some students who were not so ambitious as the rest and a few of them dropped out. However there are still a large number left. After many weeks of practice the orchestra made its first appearance at the eighth grade exercises at the Congregational Church. May. 1929. This year. Miss Alma Cireve. music instructor, has directed the orchestra. The different members of the orchestra play the following instruments: Charles Moth and Mildred Cleveland play saxophones. Mabel Runnion and Marjorie Whitney play violins. Robert Aurand, Elva Cleveland. and Marion Highbarger play the slide trombones. Helen Marie Cleveland. Eleanor Cleve- land. and Eldora Fischer play cornets. The clarinet is played by Helen Conger. Marguerite Whitney is accompanist. We hope in the future the Seward School Orchestra will be able to enter the annual contests held at Rockford. Puile TilL't'l7lll -set 1
