Even the Head of the English Department has a little time to relax and read. For having been with Sewanhaka since its founding - For having guided the formulation of English Department practices - For having been friend, counselor and spirit of learning to his students - Fox having been the very inspiration of a gentleman and a scholar - We, the class of i96O, with a deep reluctance to let him retire, dedicate this year's Totem to Mr. Walter H. Thomp- son who has truly made all the difference for us at Sewanhaka High School. Dedication MXN., sttc c Mr. Thompson, there must be a way to change this schedule, begs Mr. Jones. 43+ sf Ah!! Here's the bottle I was looking for. Mr. Eklund spends his valuable time not only in the Chemistry Lab, but schedul- ing and planning the whole department. Through the life of every school runs the thread of many personalities. From these threads are woven a great insti- tution. Carl Eklund has spun such a thread through the many phases of his career here at Sewanhaka. Through his inspirational guidance as a Science teacher, Department Head and Coordinator, and as a former ad- visor to Honor Society and the Senior Class he has be- come a familiar and pleasant personality, highly esteemed by the faculty and students alike.
