Bang went the gavel, and the Sewanhaka Student Council was in session! The change from a bicameral system to a single house system was taken in stride, and the ideals of our American way of life-to work in the form of self-government-was still upheld. Among our many activities were the sale of the discount cards, Purple and White Week, the Pep Assembly that promoted school spirit, the Teen Bandstand trip, Student Teachers' Day, the sale of the New York Times and the Herald Tribune, and the Rally Dance. Highlighting our year were the inter-club basketball athletic games and the successful Council Bazaar. Wasn't the crowning of the King and Queen impres- sive? That's where Presi- dents' Club really helped us. With the assistance of Mrs. Millicent Wille and Mr. Wallace Purdy, our faithful advisors, we often discussed the fine points of parliamentary procedure and gained other knowledge which we used to better our organiza- tions.
