June 26, 1892 was the birth date of the late Mr. Ernest S. Babcock. On December 22, 1956, Mr. Babcock passed away, but the many happy memories of this wonderful man will linger always in the hearts of his many associates. He graduated from Oswego State Teach- ers College, in Oswego, New York, and then went to teach in the states of New York and Ohio. He came to Sewanhaka in September, 1943, as an Industrial Arts teacher, and had been assigned to the faculty of the Floral Park Memorial High School when he passed away. The sight of Mr. Babcock's cheerful, be- spectacled countenance may be gone from Sewanhaka High School, but it will always be remembered and missed by his students and fellow-faculty members. The memory of Mrs. Maude J. Bartlett will be cherished by all with whom she came in contact. This wonderful woman spread hap- piness and confidence into the hearts of all homebound Sewanhakans since 1946. Mrs. Bartlett was born in La Crosse, Wis- consin on November 13, 1902. She attended the La Crosse State Teachers College, and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1928. She did graduate work at Harvard and Columbia Universities, and the New School of Research in New York City. Be- fore coming to Sewanhaka, Mrs. Bartlett taught Physical Education and Health in Wis- consin. ln September, 1946, she came to Sewanhaka as the Visiting Teacher. Mrs. Bartlett passed away on February 1 1, 1957. She is remembered and missed by many people.
