-1 1 4972, 5 DONALD L. WHZDNER Editor-in-Chief For twelve months we have labored. We have had personal conferences, and at- tended conventions: Syracuse, Columbia, New York University. We have been mak- ing appointments and taking pictures. We have endeavored to present something new-something interesting and personal. We hope we have succeeded. I am deeply indebted to my staff for their untiring efforts. Phyllis Glasser has been responsible for our pictures, and loan Dunne for copy and advertisements. My gratitude goes out to the rest of the staff. lane Powell, who won the Floral Park Board of Trade Emblem Contest, originated our layout. Audrey Stoeffler has completed a very fine job with clubs. Congratulations are due Kathleen McGee for the successful completion of the Senior Pictures. Burton Mendelsohn de- serves a gold medal for keeping our finances in the black in the face of inflated costs. Seymour Bossert's publicity program is well worthy of note. Thanks are also due Aura Echeandia for her Class section, and Gloria Oshansky for the Girl's Sports department, and well done to Bertram Miller for his Boy's Sports. P1 . iylhs Gigs-,ser I , Oqn Dun ne' Kar 1715.6 Mr. Anastasio appointed loan Dunne advertising manager last autumn. The goal was set at twenty pages, instead of the usual sixteen. That called for plenty of work. The call for vol- unteers was answered with great enthusiasm. Twenty-four Sophomores signed up. The as- signments were given out, and the staff really went to work. This staff is believed by the editors to have proven to be most co-operative. Thanks to them, the goal was surpassed and the book now has twenty- five pages of advertisements, the largest a Totem has ever had. These excellent results have enabled us to finance the greatly increased costs.
