Clam of 1946 Beginning its high school life in a war-torn year, the Freshman class wasted little time in electing the leaders who would guide it through the first year. Andrew Meirdeircks was elected president with Michael Trupiano, vice-president, and Valerie jones and Charles Currithers secretary and treasurer respectively. Under the careful guidance of Miss Ostrander, the Freshman class began many war-time projects. By this time its members had become acquainted with each other and the school. The Parent-Reception was the one big function of the year. It was well attended despite war-time regulations and shortages and it proved that the class would do well. Hardly was the Reception over when the Freshmen were planning for their annual Party. This event was very well attended as was the equally successful Reception. Members of the class gave skits, acts, sang songs and danced. Spirits were high and by February the Freshman class had presented its highly praised patriotic assembly and
