' After visiting the sixth grade, my next trip led me to the '11 first grade, where I found Mrs. Imhoff and her little pupils en- gaged in a musical game. After the fun was over it was time for X spelling which we all liked. Many are good spellers as well as . W readers and we enjoy reading about Jim and Judy. There are sev- ' eral books we want to read in the next few months, also learn re- A more about trains and the people who work on them. ' A We are very fortunate and happy to have in our room a little 1' boy who came from a foreign land. C Bognolide Trigno, Italy, . His boat from Italy landed in New York on February 14, 1947 and :V he came to Seville on January 28, and started to school at that X time. 'When he came in our room he could not speak one word of - English, and now he is one of our best Readers and fipellers. His 4 name is Rinaldo Mastrodonato. I hear from our music teacher that ' he has a very good voice and he is going to learn how to play the . Base Horn. We wish you all the luck in school and hope you like our commtry very much. . Ns' My last stop is in the lower grades was the fourth grade, whose, T. teacher is Miss Bissel. We are starting division in Arithmetic and ASSE enjoy working immensely. Our boys are praticing shooting baskets so we can play the fifth grade boys some noon. ' Q 4-nun 5 S' The soft music floated through the crowd and Ilslowly came out X of a daze and discovered that I had been dreaming. In front of me I could see the couples dancing. My how pretty they looked! Yet ' I couldn't forget how the lower grades made such an impression on I N ' Q me. Maybe it was that I enjoyed mine the same as they. ' he Jkikirifilviltiillllikllllif A THE UPPER HALLS X' Q The'seventh graders are anticipating their first year upstairs f and they seem to enjoy it immensely. They were very proud to have wg two of their classmates, Patsy Mong, and Carol Black chosen for - , Junior High cheerleaders. Good work girls! Mr. Heller, our coach, - ' is also seventh grade home room- teacher. s My next destination while on my little journey to the grades was I the eighth grade, who have Mr. Scott for their home room teacher. . This class is one of the largest groups upstairs, with an enrollment of thirty pupils. W: were happy to have June Short elected to be N ,le one of our Junior High cheerleaders, also an all-county second ' 8 team cheerleader. . ,455 Six boys from our room are on the Junior High Basketball team I W 0 I- Q 4' 3 -:ge J I , ,- t e . . We are very proud of our boys that played on the basketball team this year. One member of our class played on- the football team, which was organized earl- ,-,s ier in the season. We were very glad to have one of our classmates, . ' 0 Norma Detwiler, chosen as cheerleader again this year, this being 3 her second year to ifill that position. In December we sold pencils with the basket ball schedule on them. ' 1. My last stop on my journey upstairs was to visit the Junior Class. . Once again the Juniors were given the privilege of selling pop and Qf NS weiners at the football and basketball games. We also sold them at two dances we had during the first semester. ' We are proud to have in our room, Marilyn Koppes, holder of ,, two all-county cheerleading medals. 5' School opened with a nice surprise for our class when we learn- ' ed that our class rings were here. They had been ordered last year. Our sweaters also arrived after a few weeks of school. These were ui ' S due to arrive last year but had been delayed. ps As I come to the end of my visit, I recall my happy school days I ss when we had so much fun together.
