Looking about I saw many strange sights we 3 as compared to the year 1939, one of my happiest years. I. About thirty-two children compose the fifth grade this year un- 1' der the leadership of Mrs. Youngen. They are enjoying thenew clock in their room, which they bought with sales tax stamps. 5 The next-stop was the third grade where I found Mrs. Rumburg' reading a story to her studentsg everything seemed to look so nice 3 and fresh, being in its own place. Arithmetic is not new to the- v- - third grade anymore but as one of the girls said, we seem to en- by joy working the different problems. It is so different from the other subjects we are taking this year.' I X Ns' After anticipating the anxiety of Mrs. Rumburg's third graders, I found myself in the second grade room, amidst the hustle and the H-fl :Q bustle of the little folk. Mrs. Long, their teacher, is well-liked f -' by her pupils and in a discussion with her, I find that this is her A twenty-fifth year here at Seville. The Seniors thank her for all as the kind things she has done for us. N Tables and chairs still take the place of desks in the room. A piano also occupies a position in the far corner of the room, giv- D. ,avi ing the children more experience with music whichwill benefit them ' 'lbs a little later. Our attendence has been above 951 for the three terms thus far, ' .5 which is very good record. N since 1 did.n't have much time left, I decided to visit the re- niainder of the grades before leaving. The sixth grade, under Mrs. . s Dowd, was next on my list so I journeyed on my way at last. There 1 S is a great interest in instrumental music in the room. All but E , six members are learning to play some band instrument, under the -P Se guidance of Miss Miner.
