The Seville Reserves won a thrilling overtime game for York on January 24, by a score of 25-24. The Varsity also won their game, its ninth of the season, by a score of 58-33 as Seville cel ebrated nDads Night'. The Creston game saw Seville gaining revenge for an earlier loss to the visitors, as they won the Varsity game by a score of 51-33, and Reserve game by a score of 31-19. ' X - kit ..-f- 3 as N' xg In the Annual Medina County Basketball Tournament held at Me- 'Q dina on February 13, 15, 21, 22, the Golden Flashes won two games while dropping two, to capture fourth place and win the tournament basketball. , Seville had little trouble in disposing of York in the first round of the tournament, for our team caught fire, in the second SB half to completely outclass the opponet and win by a margin of .SN 44-28. swine 1.41 at the quarter intervals by 12 11, 20-17, 35- ,sf 22, and the final score of 44-28. X The second round of the tournament found Seville up against a l Granger team that had beaten us twice during the regular season, but the Flashes came through to win a well deserved game by a s score of 42-35, to enter the semi-finals. This was amugh game for the Golden Flashes to lose as it I cost us a chance to advance to the Ashland Regional Tournament, mi mvrs oFF T0'1HE cfmmmanms zz As the sports calendar for the school year of' '46-'47 came to if a close, it was the unanimous opinion around the school that our 1 ' cheerleaders, Marilyn Koppes, Norma Detwiler, and Mary Ann Runkle i n had done a magnificent job. if As the Annual Medina County basketballtournament got underway, Seville was one of the favorites to walk off with the cheerleading cup. As it turned out, however, things did not work out that way 91, and these girls were deprived of the honor for which they had tried : so hard.
