FT Any academic student interested in the teaching profession is eligible for membership in the Future Teachers of America. FTA acquaints students with teaching through student teaching in elementary schools, field trips to colleges, and helping teachers check papers and prepare bulletin boards. This year FTA sponsored a Share drive for children in Vietnam. The FTA officers are Kathy McConkey, Presidentg Diane Coster, Vice-Presidentg Peggy Bancroft, Secretaryg and Carol Young, Treasurer. The Chess Club brings together stu- dents who like to play chess. The club, which last year org anized an intra- county tournament , has several matches during the year.
