2' As we pause to look back over our highschool days, we remember many events which helped to make them pleasant and happy. The history as it is written by the Seniors of 1963 is exciting enough for a T.V.program entitled The Class of '63. Let us now review the program. The program was made up of four short acts and three brief commercials, during which fun was advertised. The program was written by the Seniors of '63. It was directed by Mr. Mark Herring, Ir. with the help of the parents and friends of the Seniors. It had an outstanding all star cast. The scenes took place in the Seven Springs High School, its classrooms, auditorium and gymnasium. As the program began, thirty actors called Freshmen took their places on the screen.One.of the most important events in this act was the election of class officers who were: Merle Thompson, President, johnny Raiford, Vice-President, Geraldine Strickland, Secretary, Betty Lou Mozingo, Treasurer, Barbara Adams and Jerry Sutton, Reporters. After our first brief commercial, we saw the second act. There were fewer actors because of difficulties beyond our control. The first event of this act was the election of class officers. They were: Johnny Raiford, President, Wayne Edwards, Vice-President, Barbara Adams, Secretary, Geraldine Strickland, Treasurer, Jerry Sutton and Violet Sasser, Reporters. Another highlight of this act was that many of our cast because of outstanding ability made the Beta Club. After another short commercial during which all had fun, we resumed our program with even fewer actors. The actors were now known as ,Iuniors. They elected officers for the third act. They were: Johnny Raiford, President, Barbara Adams, Vice-President, Gay Adams, Secretary,Betty Lou Mozingo, Treasurer5Vio1et Sasser and Jesse Outlaw, Reporters. The cast worked hard to make this a good act. They raised money in various ways. This they used to give a banquet to the Seniors of 1962. The theme of the banquet was Song-In-My-Heart which was carried out with a pink and white decorations. We also presented our class play, Everything Happens to Us which was a great success. Several juniors received special honors during commencement. The marshals were Jesse Outlaw, Jr., chief, Gay Adams, Geraldine Strickland, William Price and Violet Sasser. After a final commercial, we all returned with a cast of twenty to begin our Senior year at Seven Springs High School. We elected our class officers as follows: Johnny Raiford, President, Gay Adams, Vice-President, Barbara Adams, Secretary, Betty Lou Mozingo, Treasurer, Doris Williams and Jerry Sutton, R6-1pOrteI'S. One ofthe most thrilling scenes in this actwas the day we received our class rings. We chose two new members of our c ast. They were our mascots, Emily Coor and jack Ward. We chose blue and white for ou.r class colors, the gladiolus for our flowery and The higher we climb the brighter the view for our class motto. Another exciting day was the one on which we elected our Homecoming Queen and attendants. Barbara Adams received the honor of queen and Betty Mozingo and Merle Thompson the honor of attendants. Our Halloween king and queen were Gary Sanderson and Violet Sasser. The banquet, given to us by the juniors in early May, was a beautiful affair which was enjoyed by all. The last scene in which all the actors appeared was graduation. Each senior appeared briefly before the crowded audience and received his reward for a job well done. This scene was a little sad for we knew we had completed one of the happiest periods of our lives. We left the program with a feeling of accomplishment and looked forward to the new program called THE FUTURE. DORIS WILLLAMS Historian 16'
