I, Harry Price, will my ability to get out of class to help the bus mechanics to Jimmy Grady. I, Edna Grace Price, will my ability to flirt to Wanda Hester in hopes that she might make good use of it. I, Steve Price, do will my cowboy hat to Rodney Barwick. I, Ella Fulghum, will my ability to make A's on my report card to Billy Singleton. I, Donald Price, will my Sociology book to any- one who wants it. I, Betty Jane Wade, will my ability to cut up on class and not get caught to Joyce Fulghum. I, Ben Hancock, leave my long legs to Larry Rouse. I, Mirmie Ruth Price, will my Geometry book with my very best wishes to any unlucky person who might get it. I, Calvin King, will my lengthy school career of 14 years, to anyone who doesn't try. I, Rosa Tripp, will my abilityto scrub bathroom walls to Linda Stroud. In the year 1969 as I take off in my rocket ship for the moon, I peep out of my space helmet. I see agroup of familiar faces going to a big music concert on Mars. Let us stop to see who is in the group. When I stop I see that they are the 1959 graduating class of Seven Springs High School. The first face I see is that of Edna Grace Price. She is preparing to sing her latest hit and is now practicing at the piano before the crowd arrives. The crowd is gathering outside. The first per- son that enters is Rosa Tripp. She is now owner of asuccessful chain of beauty shops in St. Louis, Missouri. Behind her is Minnie Ruth Price, her greatest competitor, who is striving to lengthen her corporation of beauty shops in the next state. Next I see Jimmy Brown. It seems as if he can't skip work as he skipped school because he is now the President of General Motors Corpor- ation. Here comes Patty Herring who just flew in with her husband. Patty is now owner of the largest summer resort in Florida. Frazier Hardy just joined the group. Frazier is doing well in his mechanical shop on Kinston. Linda Cobb is very content working as a pri- vate secretary to her husband who is now com- manding officer of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Harry Price is employed to take pictures of the concert to be published in the Seven Springs Cultured Life. The book is edited by another classmate, Ella Fulghum, who is also a famous music critic. Donald Williams, who is now Dean of Williams Business College in Seven Springs, now enters. Steve Price arrives in his cowboy suit. Steve is now the proud owner of a huge ranch in Texas. I, Emmett Shivar, will all my love to Joyce Garris. I, Patty Herring, will my World History book and all my notes with my best wishes to any up- rising Sophomore who needs it. I, Georgia Benton, do leave my slim figure to Lynn Head. I, Bill Lynch, will my ability to play basketball to Bertha Benton. I, Donald Williams, do hereby will my ability to graduate to Vann Holmes. I, Ray Potter, do leave my quietness to the loud mouthed Juniors. I, Lerlene Kilpatrick, do will my ability to get along with the teachers and principal to Ronald Letchworth. Georgia is now the head nurse at Seven Springs Memorial Hospital. Calvin King is owner and operator of the King Electrical Corporation in LaGrange. Bill Lynch is now teaching Geometry at the State University. Lerlene Kilpatrick is now secretary to the President of the Purina Feed Company. Incident- ally, the president is her husband. Judy Carol Price is very happily married and still living in her beautiful home in the Indian Springs Township. Emmett Earl Shivar is a very famous jeweler in Paris. Betty Jane Wade has made a name for herself as asuccessful business woman. She is residing in Richlands. Donald Price urges us all to be sure not to miss his latest movie, Teenage Rock and Roll , in which he plays the leading part. Ben Hancock, who is designing all-occasion cards for Hallmark, now arrives. A late arrival is made by Ray Potter who is an Admiral in the Navy. Ray just returned from a Mediterranean Cruise. An equally late arriver is McKinley Price. McKinley is late because of adelay in an auction at his stock market. Z., Z will A X li .li the play we started packing to go with the Seniors to Washington. Then in May, we gave the Seniors a banquet. For the first time everyone's dates were invited to dine and dance. Our Junior marshals were: Bertha Jack- son, Edna Grace Price, Bill Lynch, Judy Price, Lerlene Kilpatrick, and Georgia Benton. When school began in the fall of 1958, our group which had been re- duced to 23 in number, began our Senior year. Our sponsor was Mrs. Imogene Price. Our class officers were: President-Bill Lynch, Vice- P r e s . -Frazier Hardy, Secretary- Ste v e P r i c e , Treasurer-Georgia Benton, Reporter-McKinley Price. When we received our class rings in October, we were a happy group of Seniors I In January we gave our play, It's A Great Life. The days began moving swiftly, and before we knew what was happening the Juniors gave us our banquet on May 1. At last we drew near our aim - graduation. It came so quickly that we could not quite realize that at last all our worries and heartaches had been of some avail. Only a few days after we began practicing for our graduation exercises, we walked dovsm the aisle to get our diplomas. Graduation was over and we were now ready to go our separate ways and accomplish our goals in life. Linda Cobb Historian , 4' las! To our faculty members we leave our sincere appreciation for the time they have spent trying to teach us the things we were unwilling to learn. To our beloved and wonderful teacher, Mrs. Imogene Price, we leave our apologies for all the worries and troubles we have caused her this year. We also leave her our love and apprecia- tion for being so kind, patient, and tmderstanding with us. The following valuable personal bequests, free- ly and full given, should be treasured as a remind- er of the generosity of the class and the indivi- duals thereof. We trust these responsibilities will be assumed promptly and bring important results. I, Frazier Hardy, do will my ability to be in the wrong place at the right time without getting cau- ght to C. C. Valcdictary Parents, teachers, schoolmates, and friends, tonight as we are assembled here at Seven Springs High for the last time, the Senior Class of 1959 find that their most difficult task is to say good-bye. I, as val- edictorian of this class, have been given the privilege to try to express for us our affec- tion and deepest appreciation to you. This honor is due to you who have guided us to this worthy goal, graduation. This event, our graduation, is the result of many years of work and sacrifice that you have made to give us our education. To our parents, we wish to express our affection and grateful thanks for the won- derful opportunity that they have given us to receive our education. During these four years of our high school days there have been many depressing and discouraging times. But with our parents beside us they have given us faith and courage when we needed it most. They told us not to stop, but to keep trying and to finish. Words cannot express the gratitude that we owe our teachers for their patience and the help that they have given us. Their inspirations have led us this far, and point to a future limited only by our own ambi- tions. To our schoolmates, we wish to say that we have enjoyed our association with you. We hope that our friendship will continue forever and that someday you will receive the honor of graduating as we are receiving tonight. For our friends, we want tonight to be a time that they will always remember with us as it marks for us a great attainment. Classmates, to us this has been a very important night. We have worked hard and labored long in anticipation of this event. The wonderful period of valuable and inter- esting experiences is drawing to a close. During these years of our educational ca- reer we have been building a foundation for the future. Now that we have finished these years of school. I hope we will be able to face our many problems without difficulty as we seek our places in this world. If one is to be able to live with himself he must first learn to live with others. For several years we have been learning to live as a member of a group. After tonight we, the group, will be separated as we bid fare- well and each of us goes his separate way. Although we will be apart, may we always keep happy memories of our years spent together and may good fortune find our doorways in the future. Again, I wish to express my deepest ap- preciation to all of you who have helped to fulfill the happiness of the Senior Class of 1959, and now, on behalf of the seniors, I bid you all farewell.
