Alyce Price, Evelyn Lamm, Joyce Head, Nannie Daly, Janet Price, Janet Ward, Edna Griffin, Chester Sutton, Edwin Holmes and Bryant Shivar completed school together. Richard Whitfield joined in the third grade and Kenneth Beasley in the fifth. lnez Sullivan and Patty Price were transferred from Indian Springs to our class in the seventh grade. Our eighth grade, under the supervision of Mr. Wilbur Williams, was very successful. Forty-one students graduated from grammar school that year, the beginning of four happy years. Mr. Alvin Suggs was our teacher during our Freshman year. Exams were soon over and we were promoted to the tenth grade. Mrs. Damon Fields was our teacher. Then we became Juniors under Mrs. Ellen Gray. During that year we enjoyed class parties and the Junior-Senior Banquet. We were very successful in producing the Junior Play, No Bride for the Groom . In the fall of l95O we came to school as Seniors. Mrs. Gertrude Scott was our most efficient guide and adviser. Our class officers were Alyce Price, President, Chester Sutton, Vice-President, Edna Griffin, Sec- retary, Bryant Shivar, Treasurer, Catherine Potter and Edwin Holmes, Reporters. We selected Mesdames Alton Daly and E. L. Potter for our Grademothers. Our mascots were Jackie and Jeannie Price, and Heber and Teddy Hunt. The fourth edition of the Sesprischoan was a great success. Janet Ward was the editor, and Mrs. Gertrude Scott was the sponsor. Then came the exciting month of May. By the time we had taken our exams, we were practising the graduation exercises, and were receiving our diplomas. Graduation was over and the time had come for us to separate. On May 30, I95I we graduated from Seven Springs looking ambitiously into the future. ALYCE PRICE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We, the members of the Senior Class of Seven Springs High School, being of sound mind and body, do declare this to be our Last Will and Testament. We, Nannie Daly and Alyce Price, leave all our rights of the Bouncer Club to Mr. Waters. We hope he will be more understanding with the club. I, Patty Price, will my ability to slip off and not get caught to Robbie Kornegay. We, Catherine Potter and Evelyn Lamm, bequeath our ability to keep secrets to Tempie Faye Creech and Lucille Williams. I, Virginia Fields, will my curly hair to Louise Price, so she won't have to curl her hair to have her picture taken. I, Chester Sutton, leave my iolly nature and ability to get along with people to Rex Price. I, Joyce Head, leave my ability to get along with everybody to the incoming Junior Class, knowing they will need it next year. I, Edna Wyse Griffin, will all my ability to play basketball to the future ninth grade. Be sure to use it and win some games. I, Edwin Holmes, bequeath my extra height to Donald Davenport so he will make a better basketball player. Q I, Inez Sullivan, leave my ability to laugh in any class to Rachel Moore. Get more fun out of school, Rachel. We, Janet Ward and Janet Price leave our ability to pass the School Bus test after three attempts, to anyone who happens to be that unlucky. I, Bryant S.hivar, leave my ability to get acquainted with all the girls to Theodore Tilghman and Pic- colo Pete Jones. fwrwwwwswvvr' I, Kenneth Price, bequeath my ability to stay out of school everyday, coming a few times a week at activity period, to Emma Jean and Justeen Kilpatrick. I, Richard Whitfield, leave my baseball playing technique to Ronald Davenport. Get those long arms wound up and ready to go. I, Kenneth Beasley, will my ability to sleep in class to Christine Smith. She won't have to worry about staying out late with Lebron. I, Grover Williams, bequeath my right to at least two vacations a year to Jake Maxwell. Work hard Jake and take your vacations. ' I, J. W. Jones, will my quiet ways to all the Junior boys, so they won't disturb Miss Freeman's English Classes. We, the Senior boys, will our ability to get a week's vacation, to the Junior boys so they won't get bored with their school work. INEZ SULLIVAN PROPHECY They told me I had to prophesy But l know not what to do For I wasn't born a prophet Anymore than one of you But wait! Incense drifts around me, the lights grow dim, the mist begins to rise, and forms begin to waver before me. Isee Edna Wyse Griffin, her husband and their two boys at their Spring Garden Estate, which is noted for its production of rare hybrid orchids. The world's largest baseball stadium appears and Edwin Holmes, Manager and Coach of the Thunder- bolts walks on the field. Across the street is a 50-acre furniture store, owned by Chester Sutton. In front is parked a l96l Cadillac, one of his many cars. The University of Seven Springs comes into view and Janet Ward is turning the corner at Trickling Brook and Riverview Streets. Janet is head of the Department of Atomic Geometry at the University, a phase of Math that was discovered by her. Someone is coming out of the Hollywood Theater! Oh, it's Nannie Daly, leading lady for J. W. Jones, Jr., on her way to the beauty salon of Virginia Fields, who is the private cosmetologist of Nannie. I pause a second and a zooming sound comes closer. Looking toward the northern horizon the out- line of a U. S. Jet Flying Saucer appears. Kenneth Beasley, covered with medals, is at the controls. Kenneth was the No. I hero in the American-Kryptonian War on the Planet Krypton. Another hero of this war during the Battle of the Helium Sea, was Admiral Dick Whitfield. I see him as he steps from his yatch at Pier No. 5 at the foot of Price Street. To greet him is Kenneth Price, and his two sons, in their Rocket-Car-Helicopter, Ian invention of Kenneth'sl. Around the block on Shady Dale Avenue is the new S200,000,000 State Hospital where Patty Price, Janet Price, and Catherine Potter are caring for their psychiactric patients. Out of the city on State Park Road, Grover Williams and his seven boys operate a 100,000,000 acre dairy farm stocked with 500,000,000 Jerseyshire cows. In the La Grange Division of Seven Springs, Bryant Shivar, president of Packard Cars, lnc., dictates anletter in his spacious office to his pretty secretary, Evelyn Lamm. Kelly's Mortuary on l03 North Easy Street appears before me and the owner, Alyce Price and her husband drive away in their iet-propelled ambulance. A few blocks down the street the dome of Sullivan's Missionary College come into view. Inez Sul- livan, the founder and president is sitting under a tree on the campus eating a bar of candy. The final picture passes before me, one of Joyce Head as she gulps down a pecan pie. She is chief pie sampler and owner of a large pie factory on Main Street. The lights brighten, and the pic- tures fade out. JOYCE HEAD .-mv'W-1I-.-c-nvw- n,v1r4lnE!7'71 ,mn.5!P II?'Gl!!1f ., S. , 'i , i ' , ' I f :Mp ' 1 .9 it .1 'f .....,.,,. M...
