IN MEMORIAM MISS MILDRED SHAFFER Seven Mile School lost one of the best teachers in its long history as Miss Mildred Shaffer died Thursday, December 23, 1954. Miss Shaffer, commercial teacher for over fourteen years, will always be remembered for her high standards in conduct and quality of perform- ance expected in her students, for her uncomplaining acceptance of physical handicaps, and for her intense devotion to duty. Although not physically well during her tenure at Seven Mile, she was always ready to accept, and volunteer for more, all duties that came along during the school year. Many former students will long look back on their high school classes and thank Miss Shaffer for the high standards that she insisted on their maintaining. Their perform- ance will always be a shining memorial to her memory. This page sponsored by OPEKASIT CENTER FARM SUPPLIES 110 M. We hope that you have already been thinking of the American way of life in contrast to that of other types of government. We, as teachers, have failed in our job unless you have learned carefully to evaluate and discard inferior ways of life. You must be prepared to work toward improvement of our government and to fight efforts to discredit or change it. Remember the old phrase, if it is worth having, it is worth fighting for. May you enjoy a happy and peace ful life. Paul R. Needles This page sponsored by WALKER CO. 231 Court St. , Hamilton, Ohio an - ' l 15 'If' .Q I F ' 5 , 1 Q '!. If all the hard drives come my way I thank You for the compli- ment. Help me to remember that You won't let anything come that You and I together can't handle. And help me to take the bad breaks as part of the game. Help make me thankful for them. And, God, help me always to play on the square, no matter what the other players do. Help me to come clean. Help me to see that often the best part of the game is helping the other guys. Help me to be a 'regular' fellow with the other players. Finally, God. if fate seems to uppercut me with both hands and I'm laid up on the shelf in sickness or old age, help me to take that as part of the game also..Help me not to whimper or squeal that the game was a frameup or that I had a raw deal.
