The Ream fllemorzkzl The blueprints and the scale models in the pic- ture below represent another step in the construc- tion of the proposed new library of Seton Hill College. The library is to be a memorial to the Reverend Doctor James A. W. Reeves, late presi- dent of the college. The library will be a tangible, material proof of Seton Hill's appreciative mem- ory of Father Reeves, whose spirit of enlightened and enthusiastic leadership has been a continuous influence in the growth of the college. Father Reeves came to Seton Hill as a young priest at the opening of the 1920-1921 term, two years after his ordination. He was first Professor of Philosophy, lecturing also on religion and Scripture. Later, as Professor of Psychology, he founded the experimental laboratory. Following the death of the Reverend Daniel Richard Sullivan in 1931, Father Reeves became president of Seton Hill, which oflice he held until the time of his death, March 7, 1947. So worthy a successor to Father Sullivan, Father Reeves will always be held in reverent memory. THE REVEREND JAMES A. W. vi x Moi-Han ANNE REGINA ENNIS Ennzf Ennis Hall, the latest addition to the residence halls, is named for Mother Anne Regina Ennis, co-foundress with Mother Aloysia Lowe of the Sisters of Charity in western Pennsylvania. After the Mother House at Seton Hill was completed' in 1889, Sister Anne Regina was elected Mother Superior and served in that capacity until her death on May 16, 1894. Formerly the Henry Coulter estate, Ennis Hall houses thirty-live students. Sister Mary Dorcas Smith supervises the girls during their stay at Ennis, while Miss Kathleen McShane, Aunt Kitty,', has been house hostesss since Ennis was opened in 1945. The annual reception for faculty members, the tree at Christmas time, family rosary, Aunt Kitty's cocoa and marmalade, 10:30 snacks in the kitchen, and the pink elephant in the smoker, are only a few of the details which Ennisites remember. Juniors . . . we were jolly . . . welcoming our wonderful little sisters . . . our love for our Hill had taken deep root and grown . . . and we cultivated it in the hearts of our freshman charges . . . But now . . . on the threshold of alumnaehood . . . we pause to think of the part of our- selves we will leave at Seton Hill . . . in memories . . . of our Cap'and Gown Show . . . the Christmas party . . . and carol singing . . . the tree and ivy we planted . . . the songs at Lantern Chain ...chocolate-ripple ice cream in the tea- room . . . long lines in the bookstore . . . countless bridge games and cokes in the smoker . . . trips downtown . . . the daunt- less, devoted support of our class adviser . . . all the dear friends we have made . . . the many quick, fervent prayers to our Mother . . .
