Maura Hall Maura Hall was erected during the oflice of Mother Ignatia Flynn with funds obtained fiom the sale of eighteen acres of coal rights underlying the property. Since 1908 the Hall has often reflected its origin, for it is the scene of constant activity which may not be so manual as digging coal, but is often as arduous and equally as rewarding. Until the time of its closing in 1947 Saint Joseph Academy utilized the class- rooms on the third Hoor of Maura Hall. The building is the center of the academic life of the college. It houses most of the classrooms, laboratories of chemistry, biology, physics, and psychology, and some of the ofiices of the Administration. The fourth and fifth Hoors of the building provide dormitories for resident students. Careful experimentation, constant practice, and thoughtful discussion-all essential to scientific or cultural development- are well-worn phrases at Seton Hill, and important steps in the progress of every student. Our well equipped laboratories for chemistry, biology, physics, and psychology, our not quite soundaproof practice suites, and our multitude of fascinating seminars epitomize these methods, and will be well remembered as the source of much hard-won knowledge and facility.
