It is a living part ot' each Setoniteis life and is spread hy her throughout lialtimore. 'lihis lmecame evident with the Nlodesty in Dress Campaign which was initiated hy the Junior lloard and Sister Jean. fldyisor. liecause of their enthusiasm and desire for decent yet lovely gowns. they enlisted the aid of various other high schools. hoth public and prixate to help them. This campaign has since spread city-wide. and as a result the demand for modest dresses is heginning to he filled. lialtimore youth with high standards can now find fashionahle formals with less trouhle. liuyers and dressmakers are now heginning to see the need for modesty in the world. lve can he proud of this movement which had its origin here at Seton. It will succeed with our support. A. -v i. ' ,.. -.ll We all think alike when it comes to modest evening gowns. Mary Jane Masters from Towson Catholic High, l'atricia Layton from Western, Brenda Sherrer of Eastern and Doris Butt from Catholic High compare sketches which were later published in pamphlet form to promote the campaign. Mary Catherine Monius models her lovely gown in a fashion show held in connection with the modesty in dress campaign. I -t,-.,-...,,,, Pretty as a picture littingly describes lileanora Beck, Charlotte Maskell, and Arlene lichler. three seniors who made their gowns for the Senior Prom. They prove that a gown can be pretty as well as modest. 71
