HUA, the goodness nf nur Gnd IS czferyllzzlfg MOTHER SETON GUILD To honor Mother Elizabeth Ann Seton, foundress of the Sisters of Charity in America and inaugurator of the American Parochial School System in the United States, and to hasten her beatifica- tion are the purposes of the Mother Seton Guild. These are being accomplished by making known Mother Seton's life and her virtues. Prayer cards, relics, and literature are obtainable from student representatives. The cause of her beatificatian is also being furthered by bulletin boards, quotations from her writing on blackboards. On the anniversary of her death in January members of the Guild presented a skit over the public address system and a filmstrip and records were presented in the audi- torium. lf the Church deigns to raise Mother Seton to the altar, she will be the first American-born saint. Hula life pure, all things are pure. LEGION OF DECENCY Having as its purpose the promotion of decent films, books, plays, literature, and radio and TV programs, the Seton unit of the Scholastic Unit of the Legion of Decency was one of the charter members. Membership in this organization calls for mili- tant Catholicity in promoting Catholic standards of decency and morality. On February 15, a city-wide rally was held at Seton at which the Reverend T. Austin Murphy presided and conducted a movie forum. To further the cause of this organization, various pamphlets are circulated among the students of various high schools and city-wide meetings are held four times a year.
