Doug Johnson finds a relaxing place to hit the books. Tur in Hi DPinr OF SETON HALL In celebration of Seton Hall’s 125th anni- versary, many people are proudly reflecting on the university’s past accomplishments — and rightfully so. Since its modest beginning in 1856, Seton Hall has grown from a small seminary prepar- ing “select young men” for the priesthood, into a university that prepares over 10,000 men and women for a wide variety of careers each year. But in celebrating the history of the univer- sity, we have much more than its growth to be proud of. The quality of an educational institution is not measured by the size of its buildings or the number of people who pass through its doors. It is measured by the everyday actions and accomplishments of the people it educates and employs. The quality of people at Seton Hall is our strongest attribute, and should be our prima- ry source of pride when we celebrate a 125 year history.
