Who can imagine Seton Hall Prep Without Father F inn? There is no one Who can. Father Finn has been an intimate part of the Prep since he lirst arrived on the campus in 1939. From that day he has dedicated him- self to the primary purpose of Seton Hall, the development of the complete Christian gentle- man. I-Ie has gone about achieving the goal in many Ways. As an instructor in Religion and Latin, he has contributed to the in- tellectual and moral advance- ment of innumerable Setonians. He has not limited himself to teaching. Through the years he has also concerned himself with the physical portion of a com- plete education. From 1940 to 1946, he acted as procurator of the gymnasium. In the years from 1945 to 1949 he was direc- tor of athletics at the Prep. Father Finn was appointed Dean of the Divinity School at the Prep in 1949. He is respon- sible for admissions to the Divinity School. In his capacity as Dean he guides, counsels, and advises with endless patience and understanding the students of the school. Through weekly meetings Father strives to keep the ideal of the priesthood fore- most in the minds of the young men. In recognition of his im- measurable devotion to the work of God, for his endeavors, for his friendship and for his guid- ance during our years at Seton Hall Prep, we, the class of 1963, do respectfully dedicate our edition of the Tower to Father Francis Finn. 7
