'Si-nb V it f it x , x , , ,lag N e i, I . N, K 1 lj Q 'Is there something disturbing about this Rorschach Card? NEW TYPE of medicine for a new type of patient greeted us as the key in the heavy door on 6-F clicked behind us. Drs. Latimer and Nenno introduced and ex- plained the rudiments of the anemnesis and the power of the tranquilizer, but it was the patients themselves who showed us the difference and similarity Qoften to an uncomfortable degreej between thee and me . We spent four weeks in our junior year trying to separate the psychotics from the organic brains, and found at times that a few observations by,Rosie Horowitz were more helpful than all the Rorschachs and Wechsler-Bellevues that Dr. Smith and his bodyguard, Mr. Kaufman, could ply upon us. Only Ioe Klein and Don Schwartz fought the system, but even they came out ahead in the end-Dick Kiefer is still wondering- Dr. N enno -is not. Despite the great teaching of Dr. Latimer, the term paper, and the end of rotation parties when our id came to life, We were not totally prepared for senior out-patient psychiatry. Perhaps it was the change over in administration or the fact that our every action could be monitored on closed circuit TV, but in the beginning the neurotics and psychophysiologic per- sonalities were hard to entertain in the hourly morning sessions. However, we persevered as usual, and with the help of Drs. Layman, Kern, and Kurland, and despite the words and Words and words of Dr. Wilking, jim Alexander became our first TV star and Menendez and Monforte finally found a home. Doctors M. Kurland and S. Kern.
