Cori Gianuzzi and Marcy Anthony saw their hard work pay off by qlualifying for the state c ampionship meet at Cornell University. Personal records were important for us during this building year which brought many new faces to our team. The positive attitude of this young team is what enab ed them to finish the season without los- ing their pride or s irit. The team as a wlliole gave rise to realistic thoughts of a strong S.C.C. Saints after a most disappointing start became very com- petitive during the latter half of the season. The development of a sound defense with a good pitcher was quite noticeable as the Saints battled down the stretch. The team batting average improved to the .270 mark. A season that shows only three victories may be deemed to be a poor season, but this team developed a marvelous spirit of pride and they will be a definite factor in the continuance of winning Baseball here at S.C.C.

The boys team has been led to victory by the trio of Kyle Starkweather, Dan Sheredy, and lim Maracino. The team finished first in STAC. The team has also plac- ed well in their invitational meets. The girls team was plagued by injuries this year. Cori Gian- nuzzi has led the girls in the in- dividual category.
