REMEMBERING EDWARD ALTAMIRANO SEPTEMBER 20, 1966-MARCH 9, 1984 Please tell me now oh Muse Who cries for the pain of men How can Fate so abuse A life that hardly began. Give me your voice to write Of his heart, with just my pen Though it shows little light On those pathways that he ran: Those sarcastic smiles, with brighter eyes But his heart was made this way As a friend to all he made his name So remember him this day. What is the great truth in shady skies? What idea is in view? When the Reaper finds a wasteful aim At the so talented few. o As we watch his shining, guiding light From our short sight, slowly dim Who is it that can guess what is true In that cold fate’s lonely whim. But try not to let all of Griefs might Fill your emptied mind with pain Because no good for him would this do For joy lets him live again.
