The Commencement itself began with the recita- tion ofthe Pledge of Allegiance by the Senior Class, followed by an address given by Class President Michael Natale. In his speech, Natale criticized those who believed that the class had not lived up to its ex- pectations, and stated that the Class of 1975 was one of the best in the history of the school. Valedictorian Linda Fusacchia emphasized the academic rating of the school in her speech, calling it one of the best in the Pittsburgh area. Nlr. James Jackson then pre- sented the Class of 1975 to those in attendance, and the seniors received their diplomas. The Headmaster and various department chairmen then distributed the Special Achievement Awards and the General Excellence Award. The ceremony concluded with a special blessing and procession out of the church. For 110 graduates, Serra passed from a reality into a memory. 86

Simeon was the principal celebrant, and the Senior Class officers participated in the readings. A choir provided the music for the service, accompanied by an organ and a brass section.
