PORT BA QUET Despite the rain and the muggy weather, the 1971 Sports Banquet came off as one ofthe most momen- tous occasions of the year. Besides the usual dinner and award presen- tations, the evening was highlighted by the presence of Mr. Joseph Paterno, Head Football Coach at Penn State. Mr. Paterno expressed his views on the importance ofa good background as a piece in the puzzle that makes up an athletes character. 34-The Year

GIVE EARTH A CHA CE N o one ever doubted that the many hours of looking for a tux or buying a gown was use- less. Or the hours that it took selling candy, or washing cars. But if' you ask anyone who attended the prom, they would say it was certainly worth the trouble. The music prov- ided by Saint couldn't have been better. And then there was the hypnotist. If you doubt how good he really was, just ask Mark Rosi. Everything, the group, the entertain- ment, the meal, and even the weather, added up to a perfect evening. 36-The Year
