THE GRAPPLER Wrestling is not the sport it appears to be. Two people just do not fight each other on a mat in front ofa crowd of people trying to injure each other for personal satis- faction. Wrestling is a sport that requires a year round approach with many months and sometimes years of practice. Wrestling is daily practice in a hot, stuffy room. Wrestling is starving yourself to the point where you can hardly walk. Then the penalty for being over weight-the steam room. Then the hardest part, the waiting. Waiting for your chance, your six minutes to prove how good you really are. And your reward-usu- ally an orange and the satisfaction of knowing that you have won.
