I CAN SIVIILE WITHOUT YGU That's for you, Gaby. To everyone else that headline might sound a bit spiteful or that it might be a missprint. It's neither, and I'll try to clear any questions. GABRIELA RAIVIIREZ VALASQU EZ Being a exchange student in Serena has been an unforgettable experience for me. I have learned many things and have changed my idea of American people, I thought they were unfriendly, but I was mistaken. I have got many friends in the U.S. now, I will take all of them into my heart. It is time to almost go back to Columbia, and I have many feelings inside, many moments come to my mind and I would like to find words to show them. Studying at Serena High School was wonderful and useful to me, fortunately, whenever I needed something, I found a person ready to help me. Throughout this six months that I have been here, I have got many friends and have joined happiness and sadness with them. I also found very nice teachers who helped me and understood me alot, and I thank them and everybody for being nice to me. I will never forget my homeroom time with lVlr. Klien and his jokes which cheered me up many times, my moments in the library-my favorite place at school, and many other things. I would like to come back some day, but not in the winter time, once is enough. I know what cold exactly means. Finally, I will always remember my little town, Serena, its school, and its very nice people. With Love, Gabriela Ramirez V. 63 VOCATIONAL STU DENTS I get ff ink 45 gy 'X s l Some people find it shocking with your masks up, boys. The vocational Stu- dents leave Serena to Sandwich to IVVC, Illi- nois Vally Vocational Center every morning. There they are given the choices of Welding, car- pentry, machine mechan- ics, auto mechanics, elec tricity, foods health, graphic arts, and a few others I've missed. Juniors and Seniors are eligible for this chance and if you're not college bound this is something you should look into. The students are taught how to do their selected vocation then they are free to work on that vocation. It is a great way to meet kids from other schools also. Cathy, sure it's funny, but what if someone bites into that bandaid you lost in that soup. TO TLE 5 LO D S if' E 5 s E ,Qi 5 ,,,: LV ' L 4, 5 ,, . 5 A ff . '- - ' + SENIOR PLAY The Senior Play, TEA AND ARSENIC, delighted audiences November 4 and November 5 in the High School gymnasium The play was directed by Miss Maureen Wolfe. Counterfeit money made from missing printing plates turns up at two old ladies' boarding house. Two gansters, posing as government agents, arrive on the scene to straighten out the mess One of them is poisoned by the old ladies' wine. You can imagine the hysteria when several investigations begin to take place at once. CAST Miss Crump ...... ........ M ary Jane Mahoney Mrs. Fern ..,....... .....,...........
