Girls' Soccer Girls, Soccer: A First For Serena The Little Ten Conference added girl's soccer to its list of athletic offerings for 1974-75, and Serena came out on top. Coach Nancy Zurbuch attributes the teams' success to a well balanced offense and defense. Our offensive unit had far superior dribbling and shooting skills than any of the oppo- nents and our defense, led by our halfbacks, was by far the strongest in the conference and allowed very few shots to be taken on our own goal. We very simply had the skill, the desire and the determination it takes to be a Conference Champion. Fullback Pat Connolly was elected by her teammates to be team captain and most valuable player. Elected to the Little Ten All Conference Teams were: Sue Stecher and Jennifer Robinson - lst Team, Joy Grunstad - 2nd Team, Cindy Stegman and Pat Connolly - Honorable Mention. ik 1523 GIRLS' SOCCER 9
