They marched through York- ville, Sheridan, the U of I, and placed second in Morris out of 26 bands. Students played in the solo, ensemble and organization contest. Some also attended the I,M,E.A, music festival and the Little Ten Band Festival. The band also played in the Christmas program, spring concert, basketball games, and performed at the neigh- boring grade schools to promote more interest in the band. The Serena High Jazz Band grew in number this year, and sound by the adding of guitars to the group. But I want to specially thank the teachers with whom I had classes, they were very patient with me. I remember when I was in the lounge and they were very few times that I could hold an acceptable conversa- tion, but in these last recent days, I can understand much better than before. I still have much to learn, when I return to Colombia I willgsntinue to study English. Really the time I have been here seems very short, but even so I will never forget you. When I go back I will have Wonderful memories about my dear Serena and my friends there. I appreciate very much all that you have done for me and I know this exper- ience will be very helpful to me in every respect. Maybe someday I can come back, I would be very happy to do that.
