This year's Phoenix represents a combined effort to produce a book that captures and expresses the spirit of a new Se- quoyah-a spirit we call the Spirit of '68. There is an intense pride in Sequoyah that has never been felt before. But this is only a beginningMSequoyah will become even greater. The staff has worked-and worked hard-to make the Phoenix a representation of Sequoyah's new pride. They have come up with ideas to top all ideas. Their enthusiasm has resulted in making a book which will bring back memories of 1968. They cannot be thanked enough. Special thanks goes to Mrs. Thompson who let us work independently and yet was always there when she was needed. Thanks also to friends and families who suffered through deadlines and headaches with the staff. The job couldn't have been done without them. For the Seniors, the years at Sequoyah have ended. Now they move on to something new, taking with them memories of the best year Sequoyah has yet had. But they also would like to stay and see even better years. The 1968 Phoenix is completeg the work is done. We hope that each picture says something-more than just a picture of a group clumped together, more than a posed candid-something that will reflect the Spirit of '68 and a new Sequoyah.
