CHORUS STRIKES A HARMONIOUS NOTE Although chorus could be squeezed into the tight school schedule only at the zero hour, 0800, attendance reached an encouraging 88, nearly a fourth of the school population. The fall term stressed classical composers such as Palestriria and Praetorius, Bach, Mozart, and Bee- thoven. The climax was reached in a concert held jointly with the Seoul Metropolitan Choir on December 12, at Citizens' Hall-a thrilling and unforgettable experience for all involved. Membership was open to all grades and the only re- quisite for participation was a desire to sing since there were no auditions. Student participation was encouraged whenever possible.

SAHS ORCHESTRA K EXPANDS By adding a violinist and viola player from the elementa- ry school, the SAHS band elevated itself to orchestra status. About half the 27 members provided their own instru- ments and the rest were supplied by the school. As students progressed in beginning band, they were admitted to the or- chestra. The frequent practice sessions of the different band class- es bore fruit on December 12th when the SAHS orchestra appeared at Citizens, Hall in conjunction with the Seoul Metropolitan Choir and the SAHS choir. The performance reached a climax in Beethoven's The Heavens are Telling the Glory of God, and concluded, appropriately, with both Korean and American orchestras and choruses per- forming Auld Lang Syne -a memorable experience. .
