(fafiriAAJbCL Serving delicious and economical lunches to the students every day is the contribution of the cafe teria staff to MCHS. The lunch program receives both federal and stcte aid. A special milk program subsidized by federal aid, permits all students to buy milk at a low cost. Two cafterias operate during the year, one at each school, average of 800 students are served each day. The program has grown until an Cooks, left to right: Mrs. Dcu- las, Mrs. Emery, Mr. Michaels. Mrs. Johnson. The day before Thanksgiving when the traditional turkey dinner was served, a record breaking 1046 students were served in the cafeteria. Mrs. Gladys Van Vorous heads the lunchroom staff at the Higgins Avenue plant. The cafeteria at the South Avenue building is under the direction of Mrs. Lillian Johnson. VyiainiswjancsL As MCHS has grown in the last 50 years, the maintenance department has also increased from one to six men to keep our school clean, warm, and in good repair.
