Benjamin Ulmer Lawrence Bohl Robert Brookie Ed Davis The Vocational Agriculture department, headed by Lawrence Bohl, is this year utilizing the five acres at Spartan Field for livestock and crops. The Industrial Arts department consists of drafting and shop. It was organized in 1912 with classes being held in the garage near the Bitterroot market. Mr. Benjamin Ulmer is head of this department. The Trades and Industry department is new to MCHS this year. It consists of a very extensive auto mechanics course. A Ford engine, Ford-o-matic transmission, and a complete rear axle assembly have been donated by Ford Motor Company and H. O. Bell of Missoula. Department chairman is Robert Brookie. Chester Frojen Mark Jennings The Vocational Education course is now divided into three departments. This lad measures perfect corners with his T-square. 20 Bill at work on oversized bird house.

Parler-vous Francois? This is a likely question in this first year French class. JjCWquaqcA, With emphasis on the spoken language, French and Spanish students learn many common phrases and sentences during their course of study. Latin, the other language offered in the department, stresses the written aspect. The language department offering German was started in 1908. Later German was dropped and French, Spanish, and Latin were included. The customs and ways of life of the countries are studied as well as the grammatical phase of all three languages. One. two . . . one. two . . . one, two. (phyAical fcducaiioYL Cuddle up a little closer. Girls demonstrate fine points of basketball to male spectators. Most students are unaware of the difficulties which the faculty has undergone to maintain the physical education department. It was always the first to be disbanded, and not until 1927 was it permanently established. The physical education course consists of volleyball, badminton, ping pong, baseball and trampoline lessons. Before Christmas the boys and girls classes combine for dancing lessons. Special classes include tumbling, twirling, and adaptive physical education. The department chairman is Don Delaney.
