KSTANDINGX Lois Desmond, Claire Iohnson, Pat Striblen, Howie Nelson. lanuary Class, l941l Excellent scholastic record, outstanding in school activities, ability in leader- ship, doing a big part for the school and war effort-that describes the Ianuary Class, l944. The semester started with the election of class officers. The first results showed only Claire lohnson, secretary, and Lois Desmond, luncheon chairman, as victors. The runoffs then took place, with Bob Mueller winning the job of president, Neubert Bohl, vice-president: Patricia Striblen, treasurer, and Howard Nelson, marshal judge. During the semester the class took part in campaigning for the Thanksgiving and Christmas funds, in entertaining the Chicago Parental School at Christmas, in giving full co-operation in any activity that was asked. The high school days ended with a magnificent luncheon in the Marine Dining Room of the Edgewater Beach Hotel. lt was the afternoon of graduation, Ianuary 27. All the graduates enjoyed a full afternoon of dining and dancing to the music of Del Baker. To climax the high school days, the graduation exercises took place in Senn Auditorium at 8 o'clock the night of Ianuary 27. Thus the high school days of the Ianuary Class, l944, Were over. Page lO
