The teachers firmly be- lieved that a good education builds a firm foundationi The fac- ulty made themselves available during flex, after school, and dur- ing any planning period they may have had, to help any student who felt that he or she needed it. Mrs. Bell worked hard to achieve better relationships be- tween the students and the facul- ty. She succeeded admirable and improved the entire learning atmosphere. Many members of the faculty are involved in extra-curricular activities which enable them to become better acquainted with their students and also to meet students who they don't teach. Those were the days .lf - V! Vs.. As a result of a minigrant, 12 Seneca Valley teachers were able to visit two high schools in the District of Columbia: Wilson High School and Cardoza High School. During their visits, the teachers observed teaching styles and techniques in the predominantly black classroom and brought back new ideas to apply to Seneca. This is just one example of the ways in which the teaching staff tried to improve relations in the classroom. The Aquilian thanks Suzi Ross for this article. 1.
