Scott Boyd and Paul Lumbard get ready to tape. Steve Clary and Mike Nadell do a check of sound quality. Second semester, the an- nouncements were done by the P A. Club. P. A. Club consists of stu- dents who competed for the op- portunity to do the morning announcements. There were six students chosen to be the voices of Seneca Valley. The third way you got the morning announcements was by the television production class They were responsible for bring- ing you the televised morning an- nouncements. They class got basic hands on experience on how tele- vision works. The students work in every facit of T. V. from working cameras to being on T.V. Besides producing the T.V. announce- ments every week, they work on several individual projects such as videos, comedies, and documen- taries. They did a couple of spe- cials like the Halloween show and Fast Eddie. And you thought they just read Mr. Weincek goes over the announce- ments once more with Rob McLaren and Dennis Vich. Mr. Horvat helps Francis Schima with the sound equipment. 71 Academics

The Stor Behind The News. Shanti Parikh, Shira Katz, Mr. Weincek and Paul Lumbard doing the announcements. You probably didn't realize all the work that went into bringing you the morning announcements. There were three diffferent groups that worked to give you the news everyday. The purpose of all three was to get the an- nouncements across to the stu- dents in a lively effective manner. First semester, Monday through Thursday, the oral interpretation and media study class did the an- nouncements. Besides reading lit- erature and studying the fields of media, they got first hand experi- ence on the P. A. system.
