Enthusiastic And Spirited! Hard work and dedication is what it takes to make a great cheerleading squad. This year's Varsity squad be- gan their hard work during the sum- mer. The members of the 1984-85 Var- sity squad attended Camp Rambel- wood to learn new chants, cheers, and lessons in leadership. Discipline and dedication were largely en- forced during the girls' stay at camp. Days began at 6:00 A.M. when they were called to 'rise and shine'. Breakfast was served and immediate- ly following, practice began. After practicing all day, the differ- ent squads competed against one another at night. S.V.'s squad won blue ribbons three out of the four nights of this competition. In a final competition, S.V.'s squad, with their spirit and enthusiasm, proudly took the prize for the best, overall squad. The cheerleaders did a marvelous job at arousing the crowd's spirit when S.V.'s team was winning and inspiring the crowd when the team ' 5?:lg7i A , 1. Oh where oh where! 2. I. Waking up at 8:00 A.M. to cheer at a 10:00 A.M. game doesn't seem like much fun, but the j.V. cheerleaders enjoyed ev- ery minute of it. These girls participated in fund- raisers during the year as well as helping out with Homecoming decorations. Throughout football and bas- ketball season each girl had a chance to show her individual leadership as each week the girls rotated the position of captain. lt was a gratifying experience.
