'll Eric McDonald checks out Alaunda Drain modeling her bathing suit. 21 Officers-Tresa Pinkney, Treasurer, Ernita Frazier, President, Shelly Slade, Vice Pres., Shanti Parikh, Secretary The Ethnic Awareness Club is in its sixth year of existence at Seneca Valley. The club-sponsored by Mrs. loyce Gamble-was first formed to bring to- gether those students to various ethnic backgrounds. ln the past, EAC has participated in community projects, given Black Histo- ry programs, and engaged in many fun- draisers to contribute to the Seneca Valley Minority College Fund and the United Negro College Fund. This year, activities included making fruit baskets for the senior citizens at Xmas, taking an historical trip to the home of Frederick Douglass, presenting an assembly plus other related activities during Black History Month, and putting on the an- nual spring fashion show. A new feature was the production of the Ms. Seneca Contest open to all students and spon- sored exclusively by the Ethnic Aware- ness Club. Sagldfm 6'dgi.y The Eaglettes: Pride And Precision One can see how hard this year's Pom Pon squad practiced to get their rou- tines down perfectly. Well before the school year started, the Eaglettes be- gan learning and diligently practicing under the leadership of their Captain Caroline Thompson and Co-Captain Allison O'Dell. The Pom squad, sponsored by Career information Assistant lane Sowers, dis- played their talents at all the pep- ral- lies, football and basketball games, arousing the spirit of the Eagle fans with their complex and precisioned routines. Performing was the easy part. But be- ing an Eaglette was not just fun and games, it took many hours to learn these peppy routines, practicing and perfecting new steps that were coordi- nated into routines done to live music.
