After starting out the season with seven straight victories, including a thrilling 20-'I7 win over the previ- ously unbeaten Wheaton team, the Screaming Eagles only won four of their next nine games to finish the regular season with 'I1 wins and 5 losses. This was good enough to pro- pell them into the playoffs where they once again defeated the num- ber one seated Wheaton before los- ing to Churchill in the second round. Baseball f, my were seniors Andy Malloy 1460 avg, league leading 7 home runsl, Dan Di- vision C450 avg. 2.2 e.r.a.l, Paul Hay- duk l400 avgl, Joe Moyer i315 avgl, Mark Schultz i375 avgl and Brent Prather C350 avgl. The under class- men who contributed and will be counted heavily on next year were Dennis Reighard, lim Signora, Steve Prokop, Doug Novak, Eric Rosen, and Tom McAleavey. All in all a great season for Mr. Long and the boys.

As in the part ten years, the 1985 WOC banquet was a great success, The dinner was planned and paid for by the WOC students, who attended along with their parents, employers and guests. Work Oriented Curriculum is possible only through the helpful support and leadership of Nancy Kemp, Terry Changuris, Beaufort McLaughlin and Barbara DiLuchio. WOC is a co- operative education program that has as a goal the development of both specific and general skills which facilitate upgrading on the job. The banquet offered its attendants good food, entertainment, and recognition for the hard work that these students perform all year.

The highlight of the season was beating Gaithersburg in the last game of the season, knocking them out of first place. Said Coach Barnhart, lt was a rough season. The record was not indicative of how hard these kids work. They were really a great bunch of kids. The team cap- tains were Ernita Frazier, Krista Fischer, and Laura Smith.
