The annual Mr. Seneca and the first annual Miss Seneca contests were held in May. The first run- ner up in the Mr. Seneca contest was lon Nanto and the new Mr. Seneca for 1985 was jeff Reed. In the Miss Seneca contest Shelly Slade was first run- ner up and Sharon Vargo was crowned the first Miss Seneca. The award-winning show traced the conflicts between Rose and her daughters, lune lCaroline Thompsoni and Louise lSusan Fazaker- leyl, who went on to become the famed burlesque star Gypsy Rose Lee. In the process, Rose wins and loses the love of their acting manager, Herbie Clay Arcaresei.
