A sight that signifies the end of another school day, the buses waiting to take students home. Paul Vetter takes one last look and reflects on the last three years of his life. Gale Lucy reflects upon memories of her high school days. Words that remind us of friends, loves and truly happy times. Each one of us will choose a different life for ourself, be it college or marriage or moving out of state. The graduates of 1985 aren't the only people from Seneca making a change in their lives. Mrs. Marion Bell, Seneca's principal for 18 months is leaving to work with the Department of Human Relations. She has contributed so much to this school, and it is a better place because of her work here. We are thankful for her time here, and next years' juniors and Seniors will miss her. All of us, when we read this book time and time again will feel the same thing. A sort of assuredness that comes from knowing that we once had friends at Seneca, and we always will. Courtney Hill smiles brightly at the end of an- other sucessful pom routine. Hope Emerick puts her heart into the cheer as she cheerleads for the last time at Seneca Valley. Many years after we graduate, and we pull the 1985 Aquilian from its dusty shelf, what memories will we have of this past school year? The formal defini- tion of a memory is a recognition of former experiences. We'll think of achievements like placing 9 out of 16 in statewide Pom Pon competition. We'll remember prominent students like Tresa Pinkney, a finalist in the National Achievement Scholarship Program for Outstanding Negro Studentsg and Laur- ice Chow, Courtney Clements, Iona- than Kay, llkyoon Kim, Amy Rabb, and Randy Switt, who all made the finals in the 1985 Merit Scholarship Competi- tions. Flipping through the pages of this book we will have recognitions not just of experiences and achievements, sure- ly, but also of feelings that accompanied them. The staff of the Aquilian has worked hard all year to capture these feelings in words and pictures and present them in a sort of scrapbook called a yearbook. Pictures that conjure up memories of dances, soccer and football games and final exams, and favorite teachers like Mr. Scott 81 Mrs. Frye who are retiring this year.
