Constant Drive Boys j.V. soccer ended a tough season with a record of one win, nine losses and two ties. Though they started with a good record in the pre-season and a good start in the first four games, they continued to go down hill after this. The team suffered many injuries throughout the season. and lost many key players through promotions to Varsity. The competition was also quite fierce. Says Coach Palkovic, lt s very difficult to cope with the disappoitment of an optimistic start followed by a let down, so the progress during the season was also disappointing too. Those players that continued to work hard in spite of this are to be commended. Outstanding contributors to the team were Hung Tam, Norman Grant, j.D. Cal- houn, and Ben Whitehouse. i . f llff il M'iiT SENECA vs. Springbrook L Gaithersburg W Blair T Weaton T1-9-2 Wooton L Wootton L BCC L Whitman L Churchill L Gaithersburg L Blair L Springbrook L 1. Varsity Soccer had an exciting and competitive season, but unfortunately ended the year with a final score of one win and ten losses and a tie. The team spirit and constant effort was evident in each game. We were competitive in every game we played. Six of the games we lost by only one goal, says Coach Hudock. The team stuck together all season, even through the injuries of Mark Shane and jerry Habarth. Anyone who came to the games was witness to a clean, fast paced game. Some of the ups and downs of the season were that they gave up an average of a goal per game, but scored less than one goal per game. The captains of the team were jay Midgley, jeff Poland, and David Frey. Named most valuable player was jay Midgley. 1. Ronald Christy kicks the ball over his head. 2. Seneca dominates the field. 3 jeff Poland where s the V. Soccer ba ? 4. jay Midgly takes control of the game.
