LK Pursuing Individual Excellence Many teams go through a rebuilding period and this was the case with the 1983-84 Seneca Valley Track Team. Seneca Track, known in Montgomery County as one of the dominating forces, fell this year due to lack of interest. Although the numbers weren't there, the dedication and drive to excel of those participating was the same as that of a large team. Mr. Robertson, coach of Spring track, best sums up the major goal of the team as to pursue individual excellence. Pursuing individual excellence is just what the team did by qualifying three runners in the state meet. Sean Car- penter, representing the boys team, qualified in the 400 meters. Spirit Holds Team Together Plagued with injuries this year, the girls soccer team got off to a rocky start losing their first three games. . r t Finally they came to life in the fourth f game tying a tough Whitman team. A First year coach Mr. Palkovic felt the team played well together due to the fine leadership of seniors Sara Garcia, Polly Bryan, Rainey Couni- ham, Laura McTaggart, and Monica Jennings. The girls ended the season with a record of 3-8-1. The team seemed pleased with their performance feel- W ing they played the best to their gg abilities.
