(Photos by Ulilson) by Kelli Roark, senior The Class of 1986 went to Six Flags over Texas April 26, 1986. A few of the seniors met at Shoney's in Joplin for breakfast at 1:00 a.m., this made for a long night! Everyone who went on the trip met at the school for a baggage check at 3:30 a.m. and at 4:00 a.m. they were off for Texas. At the halfway mark they stopped at McAlester, Oklahoma to eat breakfast. After riding for eight hours on the bus, they finally arrived at Six Flogs. The pork was very crowded and a lot of time was spent waiting in lines. Nine hours were spent in the park, they were then on their way home. At 6:45 a.m. they returned to the high school. The adult sponsors that accompanied the seniors, were Mr. and Mrs. Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Hodge, and Mr. and Mrs. Vust. Above: Georgana UJilson and Fonda Montgomery filled with the excitement of the senior trip, and several seniors riding a roller coaster.

OF THE MONTH! FEBRUARY MARCH Sherry Bates, junior, has served as Student Council Representative tor two years. During high school she has been actively involved in groups such as FBLA. FCA. Basket ball, and softball She is a member of the Wamor Staff and the Moccasin Print. Sherry received a 1984-85 Academic Letter. Deann Smith, senior. is second vice-president of FHA. and an active member of National Honor Society. She received a 1984-85 Academic Letter and has been active in high school as a wrestling cheerleader. Deann is following a college preparatory schedule and is planning to attend MSSC for elementary education APRIL MAY STUDENTS By Sherry Bates, junior Student of the Month is designed to honor outstanding high school students. The students are chosen by the faculty of Seneca High School. They are selected for academic ability, participation in activities, organizations, and citizenship. The students are nominated by teachers and then voted on by the faculty. Student of the month is a high honor and these students are to be congratulated! Karla Matles. senior, is actively involved in basketball and volleyball She is the assistant editor of the Wamor Staff and the Moccasin Print. Karla is a member of National Honor Society and is involved in Swing Choir and Concert Choir She has served on Student Council two years and was basketball homecoming queen candidate her junior and senior years. Staci Conduff. junior, is parliamentarian of FBLA. secretary of FCA. and a member of FTA. She is also active in volleyball. Staci is a National Honor Society member and pianist for swing choir and concert choir She received an academic letter for 1984-85

Seneca High Stresses Safety First By Fonda Montgomery, senior In the eyes of the girls athletic deportment Kelli Roark Is definitely on outstanding senior. She has spent many hours ot the high school not practicing, but just being there in cose someone gets injured. In the previous yeors Miss Killian has not only hod the responsibility of coaching but she has also hod to handle the injured athletes. Miss Killian commented that, Kelli has helped me tremendously, she has done on excellent job with the responsibility of toping and coring for the injured athletes. During her junior year, Kelli attended the Croemer Student Athletic Trainers UUorkshop ot Southwest Missouri Stote University inhere she leorned to tope various injuries. This year she mainly toped fingers, wrists, and lots of ankles. UJhen osked how she liked being a trainer she replied, It's fun!” On April 9, the University of Missouri's Deportment of education presented o Head, Neck, and Spinal Cord Injury Prevention assembly for the SHS student body. Not only did the assembly consist of the core of o spinal cord Injury and the statistics on the injuries but also several Seneco students were osked to demonstrate the difficulty of monueverlng o wheelchair in everyday life situations. Members of the University demonstrate the proper way to immobilize o spinal injury using freshman Scott UJolker. s
