MOCCASIN PRINT CELEBRA TES 55th YEAR A T SHS By Joey Splva. junior The MOCCASIN PRINT is going into its 55th year as a tradition at Seneca High. The first newspaper was issued October 10. 1930. The staff included Marie Fstlll. Editor-In-Chief. Edna Porter. Art Editor. Velda Huh' typist. Jewell Dobbs, assistant typist, and Loren Blaine, Printer. The newspaper went unnamed for a period of time. They held a contest for suggestions of the best name for the paper. Several names were given, but only the best was chosen. “Moccasin Print”. Some of the articles that were in the first addition consisted of the following: “Ministrel Takes Place of Annual Carnival”. “Seneca Trounces Wyandotte”, and “Better Spelling”. Another article in the paper was titled “Our Paper”. It told about the main purpose of the paper which was to let the parents and the community know what they were doing in school. And it gave the students a chance for self expression on the improvement of the school, and the activities in the school. Seniors Karla Mailes. Brenda Lankford, and Tammy Holcomb find examples for the yearbook.
