y Seneca Celebrates Mark Twain’s Birthday By Sherry Botes, junior On the week of November 25-27 Seneca High School wos celebrating in a Mark Twain festival. The event was held to celebrate 150 years since Mark Twain's birth on November 30, 1835: 100 years since The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was written; and 75 years since his death on April 21. 1910. Students were asked to participate in an essay contest and a poster contest. On Tuesday. November 26, a frog jumping contest was held in the high school gym in honor of Mark Twain’s famous short story; The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras County.
