By Down Shinn On April 17. 1985. seventeen new members were Inducted Into the Seneca Chapter of Notional Honor Sodety. The new members were chosen on the values of Scholarship. Leadership. Service, ond Character. To be considered for NHS. one must hove a grade point average of 3.0. This has been lowered notlonaHy this year from the previous 3.5 GPA. The students who were selected as candidates were asked to fH out o questionnaire based on honors received, activities, clubs, leadership positions held. Jobs worked, ond community services. They were then evaluated by a panel of faculty, where the finol decision was mode. Although It was a time of excitement. It was olso a time of sorrow, for we were to say good-bye to our sponsor. Mary Beth Lane. Mrs. Lane hod been the chapter's sponsor for many years, but this was to be her last. It was announced that she was to retire. Mrs. Lone will definitely be missed by the Society next year. National Honor Society is o national organization.
